KUALA LUMPUR: Back by popular demand, Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical will have a fresh restaging next year featuring a reimagined magical experience for theatre lovers.
With this updated PGL2020 comes the search for brand new talents to take on the exciting lead roles of Gusti Puteri and Hang Tuah.
PGL2020’s production company, Enfiniti (M) Sdn Bhd, announced recently that auditions for the country’s most-loved musical of all time are currently ongoing.
Those interested can do so online by posting their casting reel on their individual Instagram accounts.
Auditionees must post four videos in a carousel format that contain a simple introduction and a description of why they would be the perfect addition to the cast.
These will also include an interpretation of a scene from the musical, with a script provided by Enfiniti, as well as a performance of a song from the musical (Full OST is available on Spotify, iTunes and Apple Music) and a dance video.
Individual accounts must be set to public, since private accounts will not be entertained. All posts must mention @enfinitimy with the hashtags #PGLMusical, #PGL2020, #PGLAuditions and #EnfinitiMakesMagic.
All shortlisted entries will then be screened and judged by the PGL2020 production team headed by Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina, who is returning to the project as director and executive producer.
Shortlisted entries will automatically be eligible for a “Call Back” session on Nov 29 without having to attend the Open Auditions.
Weekly screening and shortlisting sessions will be recorded and posted on Enfiniti’s YouTube page @enfinitiMY.
The very “Last Call” for Online Auditions is on Nov 17 so don’t miss your opportunity of a lifetime and get to work quick!
The return of Enfiniti’s most highly requested show to-date, PGL2020, was announced last month at Enfiniti’s 21st Anniversary Celebration event.
As an additional bonus for fans of the award-winning musical theatre phenomena, Enfiniti also announced the long-awaited soundtrack of Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical, now available for download on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.
PGL2020 is expected to start its run in July next year at Istana Budaya.
